Outside Raiford Prison in Florida - Jan 24, 1989 |
Execution of Ted Bundy - January 24, 1989
He brutally assaulted, raped and murdered at least 30 women and girls (some as young as 12 years old) in a crime spree that lasted for most of the 1970s. But for Ted Bundy the 80s were spent in and out of courtrooms as he tried desperately to manipulate the system into freeing him after he had finally been convicted for multiple murders by a jury in Florida. After his last appeal was rejected by the US Supreme Court Bundy met his match on January 24, 1989 in the form of the Raiford Prison electric chair and the world became, for a day anyway, a better place.
